Dancing bears, painted wings
Things I almost remember
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December. In mid step he froze at the sound he heard,
The tune carrying him back as well as the words.
A memory once lost and forgotten now explodes in his eyes,
Capturing him completely holding him prisoner with ties.Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory.Six friends at once surround and shield him,
A wall of protection all noticing his sight distant and dim.
His mumbled 'she was dancing to that song in the falling snow'
Remembering a bit, a piece, giving both warmth and woes.Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember
Things my heart
Used to know
Things it yearns to remember. His eyes closing tight to try hold the vision near,
It's value to him priceless he holds dear.
So long it had been since he'd seen her clear,
The emotions so strong drawing out a deep soul's tear. And a song
Someone sings
Once upon a December.Vin stepping into the circle laying his hand on his friend,
Their bond's strength he offers to the man to him is kin.
Without words knowing the other's concern, the other's pain,
Both knew the gifted friendship would keep the other sane.
Helping him back to now with them, Vin heard him saying,
'It was good to remember her once more dancing.'
